Well, to tell you the truth, I was a bit disappointed that no questions (or insults) were posted about my SCRUBBAMINE.
Anyways, let's continue:
To mention the biggest drawback of all, first to mention is that it is expensive, and the set up and control of this process.
The
time taken to complete the whole process is quite lengthy. Why? Because
the carbon dioxide reacts with monoethanolamine and this is very less
in quantity. That means that drops of carbon dioxide is separated within
a few minutes.
The other problem is concerned about
the temperature regulation, there is a need of a special conditioner to
make sure temperatures are at a constant temperature.
Thats all for the disadvantages.
Now, lets move on to its importance.
Think
about storing the carbon dioxide formed from fossil fuel combustion
being pumped into the underground. The carbon dioxide, under extreme
pressure and temperature, breaks down into carbon and oxygen. The carbon
can be a valuable fuel in the future, that can be formed within a
millennium.
So think about what can we do if we can utilize this
scrubber to efficiently separate the carbon dioxide from other bi
product gases.
