My Own Designed Amine Carbon Dioxide Scrubber: CONCLUSION

For those who have missed out the prequels, visit the following links: Part 1
                                                                                                       Part 2

Well, to tell you the truth, I was a bit disappointed that no questions (or insults) were posted about my SCRUBBAMINE.

Anyways, let's continue:

To mention the biggest drawback of all, first to mention is that it is expensive, and the set up and control of this process.

The time taken to complete the whole process is quite lengthy. Why? Because the carbon dioxide reacts with monoethanolamine and this is very less in quantity. That means that drops of carbon dioxide is separated within a few minutes.

The other problem is concerned about the temperature regulation, there is a need of a special conditioner to make sure temperatures are at a constant temperature.

Thats all for the disadvantages.

Now, lets move on to its importance.

Think about storing the carbon dioxide formed from fossil fuel combustion being pumped into the underground. The carbon dioxide, under extreme pressure and temperature, breaks down into carbon and oxygen. The carbon can be a valuable fuel in the future, that can be formed within a millennium.
So think about what can we do if we can utilize this scrubber to efficiently separate the carbon dioxide from other bi product gases.

That's all for the SCRUBBAMINE..... and the query segment is still open!

Cheers,
Mahin Roddur.

My Own Designed Carbon Dioxide Scrubber Part 2: The Hot Column

Last time, we discussed about the cool column of the Amine Carbon Dioxide Scrubber, which I have just given the name: SCRUBBAMINE. FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T READ THE PREQUEL, VISIT THIS LINK: http://thepenbreakers.blogspot.com/2014/04/my-own-designed-amine-carbon-dioxide.html
Now we shall continue with the Hot column.

After the carbon dioxide bonded monoethanolamine passes into the hot column. The hot column has a temperature range between 78°C to 80 °C.
The carbon dioxide monoethanolamine gets slightly heated, and the process is reversed: the monoethanolamine lets go of the carbon dioxide gas and carbon dioxide is then passed into a dehydrator in order to dry it.

When temperatures get high, the carbon dioxide cannot form bonds with monoethanolamine anymore, thus slowly escapes out of the hot column. Mean while, the monoethanolamine evaporates and then again condenses (see diagram above) back into the hot column (without forming any bonds with carbon dioxide). In this way, carbon dioxide is separated from steam.

Well, that’s all for today… Don’t miss next Thursday because we are going to discuss about the whole structure and its importance to the environment.

And YOU CAN SEND ANY POSSIBLE DRAWBACKS ON THE COMMENT BOX…. Or To My Email: roddur99@gmail.com

ANY QUERIES?? JUST SEND THEM TO ME: roddur99@gmail.com

My Own Designed Amine Carbon Dioxide Scrubber Part 1 THE COOL COLUMN

It was when our science fair project team were researching about ways to separate carbon dioxide from steam, in order to store it underground for sequestration. The reason was because we thought about methane combustion and agreed that how about that instead of releasing carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, how about we store it underground, where under extreme pressure, carbon dioxide will break down into carbon and oxygen (eventually).

And then I was given the job of designing (but primarily researching) the structure of the carbon dioxide scrubber that uses monoethanolamine.
But the problem was the time management, so I thought of one and put it on paper.

So here it is...

So let me start by first describing its structure.

The upper column is known as the cool column. It should has temperature range from about 30°C to 50°C.
This is so because the upper structure is relatively cooler than the lower one, hence the name.

Now, let me concentrate on the cool column and the whole journey of the gases.

The starting gases are chosen as steam and carbon dioxide because the bi products of methane combustion are these.

So steam and carbon dioxide are passed through a bed soaked with monoethanolamine. This structure needs to be a bit delicate because once carbon dioxide has bonded with monoethanolamine, the carbon dioxide bonded monoethanolamine can drop down and slide off into the hot column. Thus, a specific sensor can be used.

But the steam does not form any bond, thus it moves out into a condenser or trace amounts can be contained for cooling purposes.

Meanwhile, the bed of monoethanolamine can be constantly kept wet using occasional bullets of fresh unreacted monoethanolamine.

So that is it for the week. But don't miss the next article on THURSDAY, because I am going to describe the rest of the structure.

And... oh, yeah, one more thing. ANY QUERIES ABOUT THIS DESIGN CAN BE MADE IN THE COMMENTS BOX. I WILL TRY MY BEST TO ANSWER THEM, OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ANY DRAWBACKS POINTED OUT.

Well, if want to continue to read till Thursday...
                                                                                         See ya!

Reality 3

This is where the unending ends… temporarily.

 REALITY PART 3
Hope can have many creations… So does Despair.
Misery. It’s one of those negative feelings that despair creates. It is a cycle of negative and… well inexpressible miserable feelings. It’s a flow of despair… pushing you into the dark side of reality.
Before we move on… I would like to encounter a question:
Is Hope a part of reality? If not why do we ever think of it?
Hope… is part of reality because; even the most hopeless of people would find hope as their boat to sail out of Earth during their deaths. That means hope is part of everyone’s life. It is a short-lived part of reality.
Grief. Grief is another aspect of Pain … which is either carved out of guilt or sadness. It is the most long lasting pain of human beings… unlike most other types of pain it haunts you… it injects the feeling of guilt which ultimately makes lose your tracks of life.
Sadness and Happiness… these two are not opposites. Because they both give birth to… hope. Sadness… is not a direct descendant of despair… even though it does not carry hope it gives birth to hope. Whenever we are sad our sadness always finds its way out… leaving the hope to live on. But… grief… misery… they are way out of class.
HOPE and DESPAIR are complete opposites. They are like the purest form of black and white. People are always confused… are zebra stripes black in white, or are they white in black? Such a question also arises when try to define hope and despair. Is hope the ultimate background of despair? Or is it the other way around? Well… different people have different viewpoints and the same also appear here.
Remember my first part of this series? When I wrote that there is such a thing as permanent despair?
Yes. That’s it. Permanent despair is the background of reality. Hope is the veil that covers reality’s face (despair). The whole blank canvas of reality is all negative.
Unlike hope, sometimes despair gifts hope back and that bridge is known by everyone… consolation.
The tracks of life isn’t all that simple. There are faults… some memorable and some are not. But still the permanent form of despair is always there to make you feel miserable.
So… try to stay positive… and face despair straight in the face. Because that’s the only way you can fight this reality of your life.

EPILOGUE
Reality. What is it?
Is just life? Is it a cycle?
Life is a strange thing. To fully understand it, you have to meet death. Or otherwise, we just come to a country’s border and see its marvels through a television screen.
Reality. It is a really complicated thing that comes with exceptions… well, a lot of exceptions. The whole cycle of life goes from one generation to another and some generations are intelligent enough to entrust their dreams onto its successor. That is how development exactly happens. The successors will succeed to conceive the things we failed to conceive… that is why they are called so.
The whole thing about reality is just like life… it cannot be just put into three articles (1767 words). Describing it will be like describing the whole journey of life.

Reality 2

This is the continuation of last week's article of REALITY PART 1.

                             REALITY PART 2

So don’t lose your tracks… stay strong and try to escape this part of reality… fast.
Because the other parts are going to haunt you… anyway. Unlike pain they (the following aspects of reality in this article) don’t have a train of emotions… they don’t have any duration.
You might have noticed that I have only explored part of the whole thing.
Before we move on… we will take into account the following: Love Hatred.
Even though love and hatred are complete opposites, they are actually like light and shadow. When somebody loses light (a loved one) he/she gets overshadowed (the reason is already explained in the first part). And when he/she releases hatred, that person takes in light (love)… which eventually leads to happiness.
That means whenever somebody loses a ‘bond’ consolation usually come in to inject hope into that person. Consolation sometimes takes over and gives that person short-lived hope. But more pain can cut off hope’s hold. Hope is something that doesn’t last long… it’s like a pencil line that can be erased any time.
Hope. It’s the ultimate thing that keeps people alive and it’s also the ultimate thing that prevents many people from dying in pain. The ‘bonds’ are created due to hope’s presence. It also creates the greatest disguise of all… happiness.
Happiness paints the blank canvas of reality. It is one of things in life that hope gifts. With happiness, everything has its function. Life doesn’t seem so miserable.
But sadly… to me… life isn’t like that the tank of reality sometimes overflows… and washes out the colours of life… washes out… hope, taking people back to empty misery.
Optimism. Many people take it as a good thing. But to me, it’s actually is cowardice… it means you fear that hope might runaway and cling onto it. It means never accepting in misery… but alas. Human nature is something different. Optimism only holds ideals of hope.
But soon, these ideals get replaced with pent-up exhaustion. Then, people don’t know what exactly they are hoping for.
Heroes. They have different meanings… to me they are just people showing and holding optimism. They hold ideals of hope. They are the carriers of happiness. Every once in a while heroes will pop up and spread their only enlightenment… hope. But hope soon dies out… revealing the blank canvas of reality.
Pessimism. The people who hold it are scared of reality and they let the colours of hope fade away… these people are commonly termed as ‘cowards’. I would too.
Optmism and Pessimism… none of their purest form can ever be inside any human. Then… what is the use of having more than seven billion people in this small world?
Good and Evil. Even though they are complete opposites… they have some similarities. Both of them are Hope’s creations. Good people carry hope to defeat evil… and evil people hope to defeat good. Then again, a question always arises to a person’s mind when we come to this:
Why should evil people want to defeat good? What in the world will they get from defeating good? Happiness? Then which side happiness is on?
Yes. There will be some geniuses who will always try to correct this question. ‘It’s not happiness but satisfaction.’
To me, satisfaction, joy and ecstasy… or whatever positive, can all be termed under happiness.
Now back to the question. Whenever somebody attempts to answer this, they have no choice but to remove the concept of good and evil from his mind. He/she must think good or evil people to be carrying opposite ideals… just like black and white. If that happens… then the answer to it will be as simple as this:
It’s just like the feeling when a hopeful person (who carries ideal X) defeats another hopeful (who carries ideal Y).
Conclusion: There is no such thing as good and evil people. They are just different people carrying different ideals. They are all carriers of hope.

Hope can have many creations. So… try not to let them get washed away. Cling onto them.
